Hi There!  I'm pleased to be the Gifted and Talented Coordinator for the De Queen School District.  My background is very eclectic.  I was born and lived in Texas for 21 years. Following that,  I lived in Ohio for 14 years where I got my Batchelor's Degree in Elementary Education from The Ohio State University.  I later moved all over, working on major construction projects, helping build such projects as an Air Separation Plant for Union Carbide in South Carolina and a Carbon Dioxide Recovery Unit in Wyoming for Exxon.  I returned to teaching in Oklahoma and received my Masters'  degree in Gifted Education from Southeast Oklahoma State University in Durant.  I taught (mostly math and science) in Oklahoma 20 years before coming to De Queen.

I teach enrichment classes for kindergarten through third grades, pull-out gifted and talented classes for identified GT students in grades four and five, and do once-a-month affective needs classes for grades 6 through 12.  It's exciting to be able to visit with so wide a variety of students.
